Directions to Port Alberni from Victoria by Tall Ship
If you happen to be coming to the Port Alberni Festival of Sails July 11 & 12, 2008 on aTall Ship, beware of getting too close to shore. The West Coast Trail on your immediate right once you leave Victoria and get up the coast a bit wasn’t a life saving trail for crews of ill-fated ships for nothing back in the 18th and 19th Centuries.
Once you get to the Cape Beale lighthouse turn a sharp right and that’ll put you in Imperial Eagle Channel which eventually turns into the Alberni Inlet. Approximately 40 km later you’ll see the Maritime Discovery Lighthouse and your there.
